1. SBC Reaffirms its Commitment to the Nation – Mar’06

SBC is fully cognizant of the challenges that face the new Government of Tanzania having to deal with several burning issues such as the drought and the subsequent food shortages.

SBC Tanzania limited recognized that the Government should not be left alone to shoulder such burdens. It is a corporate social responsibility of the private Sector, SBC included, to assist in alleviating some of the pressures on society particularly those emanating from food shortages.

As a good corporate citizen with unflinching commitment to the well being of Tanzanians, SBC reaffirmed its commitment to society by contributing TSHS. 50 million towards the National Relief Fund on 10th March 2006. SBC sincerely hopes that this humble contribution, together with those of other private sector enterprises, will go a long way towards unwinding the burden of food shortages faced by the country.
